Day 11, Barstow, California to Colton, California-------------------------------------------------81 miles
Sorry for being a little behind but here goes. On Day 11 we left the Quality Inn Motel in Barstow, CA and went to the Barstow Route 66 Museum in Barstow. Deb is always glad to see us come in and has been a supporter for years. She awarded all the Riders with a beautiful pin and her husband was our photographer.
From the Museum we made out way to Elmer's Bottle Ranch. Elmer has always been a supporter and this year gave us well over One Hundred Dollar donation. For the new people on the ride this was quit a different place and a lot pictures were taken.
Elmer told us goodbye and we headed for the Summit Inn in Victorville, CA for lunch. At the Summit Inn we were greeted by the owner (shame on me I don't remember his name) and his staff with open arms. Everyone had a good meal but I don't think anyone ate the Ostrich Egg. I did get a picture of my truck beside the owners truck, to bad his was red.
With full stomach's we headed to one of the largest motorcycle shops on the planet, Chaparral Motorsports, 160,000 square ft. building in sunny San Bernardino, California. I think everyone was very surprised at the size of this place and there were many purchases.
Now off to the Motel and a 5:pm BBQ with all the Hot Dog and Hamburgers (with all the trimmings) you could eat, plus several iced down beverages. At 7pm we had a gathering of the All the Way Gang for pictures followed by a little pool party.
I was truly a great day but a little sad leading up to the end of the Ride. Please enjoy the pictures and leave comments in our guest book. Guest Book
