Tue Sept 9 (Day 4)
Joplin, Missouri to Yukon, Oklahoma
Today we leave Missouri, past through Kansas, visit the Cancer Treatment Centers of America for a great BBQ at noon and a tour of the Hospital. Those that don't tour the Hospital will continue down Old Route 66 and see the Blue Whale, Round Barn, Bottle Shop and have a interesting lunch somewhere. For all the new Riders we will have presentation by Ken the Land Runner on his Historical Document with the Post Marks. Pictures will be posted.
Today was HOT HOT HOT but it didn't slow us down. Jim Engling and Steve Hamstra took a large group down Route 66 and had lunch at the Rock Cafe where Sally gave them some history on the Rock. I took a group of 25 to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and we had a great lungh in the Board Room and got introduced to the new CEO. Following that we were given a nice tour of the Hospital. At the hotel Ken the Landrunner presented his program mostly for the new riders. I personally was surprised by my son dropping by and taking me to dinner. Now check the days activities looking at the pictures.
The first group of pictures was taken by me and are somewhat out of order but please enjoy and scroll on down to enjoy the pictures of our staff photographer Judy Royce.
